Who I am
I'm a Brazilian-born design and technology enthusiast, who kick-started my career with a BA in Industrial Design back home. Craving for new horizons, I ventured to Australia for further studies in Design, indulging in my passions for exploring South East Asia and surfing perfect waves. My adventure led me to San Diego, California, where I became a co-founder of an exciting early-stage startup.
With over 18 years of UX and Design experience, I’ve delivered engaging and impactful product experiences for a wide range of projects, including IoT (Connected Devices), autonomous robots, mobile apps, enterprise SaaS web apps, dual-screen device, and health tech.
My passion is helping people empower themselves through technology by improving the quality of their experiences with it, whether on the web, on a mobile device, or in some other way.
I’m a consensus builder who enjoys working with cross-disciplinary teams to figure out clear and elegant design solutions for complex problems.
As a human and a designer, I value empathy. I believe It’s important to learn from others’ experiences and benefit from their perspectives. That strategy consistently helps me, whether I’m talking to a customer or building a relationship with a stakeholder. By understanding views different from our own, I’m able to understand any problem more completely and create a more holistic solution.
As a mentor, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience to help designers (and aspiring designers) grow in their career and improve their hard and soft skills.
As a design leader, I look for ways to bridge the gap between people and ideas, transforming design processes into business wins, and cultivating my team's growth.
As a father to both the human (baby Owen) and canine (Hugo, our miniature Schnauzer) species, I love spending time with my family, traveling, painting wooden boards, exploring new restaurants, reading sci-fi and biography books, playing tennis, surfing and snowboarding.
